Music STEM Club Tech Shoeburyness — BBC micro:bit & MINI.MU Glove 🎶💻 Introducing Southend Music Tech Clubs — Where Music Meets Code! We're excited to launch our brand-new Music STEM Tech Club in Shoeburyness — a hands-on programme designed for young people aged 12–16 who want to explore the exciting intersection of music, technology, and coding. 🗓️ When: Every Wednesday, 9:30am – 12:30pm 📅 Runs: 5th August – 2nd September 2026 📍 Where: Shoeburyness Across each 3-hour session, participants will get hands-on with real coding languages — Java, JavaScript, Python and more — applied through practical music technology projects. It's STEM learning reimagined: creative, engaging, and built to spark genuine curiosity in the next generation of young technologists and musicians. This initiative is proud to serve our local community, offering underprivileged and neurodivergent young people a supportive, inclusive space to build confidence, digital skills, and creative expression. Spaces are limited — book your child's place today. #MusicTech #STEMEducation #Southend #YouthEmpowerment #CodingForKids #CommunityImpact #Shoeburyness By the end of the programme, participants can: describe what a BBC micro:bit is and how it becomes a wearable music instrument; make and personalise their own glove; wire the micro:bit, speaker, battery and sensor into it; write simple MakeCode blocks and read live sensor data; map gestures to musical parameters (pitch, volume, speed, tone) — linked to the Music Monomodal Learning® 5-element sequence (Rhythm & Beat, Tone & Pitch, Speed, Volume, Contrast); compose and perform a short gesture-music piece; and name a real industry pathway (Mi.Mu Gloves, Sonic Pi/EarSketch, or virtual-orchestra scoring) this connects to.
