It's been quite a ride since we first launched our club on the 5th August!
🚀 In just a few short weeks, Southend & Shoeburyness Music STEM Tech Clubs has gone from a bold idea to a genuinely buzzing community — with total of 26 children now coding, creating and jamming with us across our sessions, and more joining every single week. We've welcomed families from right across Shoeburyness and Southend-on-Sea Central, watched shy first-timers turn into confident young coders, and started building real momentum with our home-educated and remote members too.
We couldn't have done it without our very own Lead Trainer and BBC Micro:Bit Champion Adonai Chinyama. Her delivery of STEAM content and trouble shooting all those coding questions was flawless. Children described Adonai as being very patient, easy to understand, a wealth of knowledge and fun to work with! WOW. Amazing to hear.
Online, the word is spreading fast — we're now 34 followers on Facebook, 81 on Instagram, and building a growing presence on LinkedIn as we connect with partners, mentors and the wider Southend tech community.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our families, youth mentors and partners — including Raspberry Pi, Code Club and BBC Micro: Bit— and we're only just getting started.

We're Hiring
We're growing our Southend and Shoeburyness Music STEAM tech clubs division from September — and we are looking out for brilliant youth mentors to help us do it!
We're seeking 2 enthusiastic, DBS Enhanced-checked youth mentors to join our daytime club team and help us deliver the highest standard of coding, music and tech education to young people across Shoeburyness and Southend-on-Sea Central.
